Also included are 365 by Greg and Myles McLeod (they created 365 one-second films chronicling a year of their work), Torill Kove’s ME AND MY MOULTON, Disney animator Glen Keane's! directorial debut DUET (produced by Google), Mikey Please's stop motion tour de force MARILYN MYLLER (produced by Google), the Hiroshima 2014 Grand Prix winner THE BIGGER PICTURE by NFTS graduate Daisy Jacobs, Julien Bisaro's haunting first professional film BANG BANG and Konstantin Bronzit's WE CANT LIVE WITHOUT COSMOS. (Bronzit got an Academy Award nomination for Lavatory Lovestory.) Closing the program will be Piotr (Crime and Punishment) Dumala's transformative HIPOPOTAMY, It explores the bestial behavior of one of nature’s most dangerous creatures, but in this allegory the beasts are represented in human form. Additional shorts may be added to the program. Running time will be about 100 minutes.

It's been a whirlwind of a year and I'm delighted to bring you 11 fantastic new animated shorts. Find the screening that best suits your location and schedule and please forward this to your friends in animation, we are always looking to expand our reach.

The 16th Annual Animation Show of Shows includes Disney's FEAST (USA) (with the animated feature Big Hero Six, November 2014) and Pixar's LAVA (USA) (with Pete Docter's animated feature Inside Out, June 2015). Also featured is 365 (UK) the film by Greg and Myles McLeod, composed of 365 one-second films chronicling a year of day by day filmmaking, veteran Animation Show of Shows featured director Torill Kove (Academy Award® winner for The Danish Poet and Oscar® nominated for My Grandmother Ironed the King's Shirts) new National Film Board of Canada short ME AND MY MOULTON (Finland/Canada). Other films include legendary Di! sney animator Glen Keane's directorial debut with DUET (USA), produced at Google's ATAP unit along with Mikey Please's stop motion tour de force MARILYN MYLLER (UK), Hiroshima 2014 Grand Prix winner THE BIGGER PICTURE (UK) by NFTS graduate, Daisy Jacobs, Julien Bisaro's haunting first professional film BANG BANG ! (France), delicious use of watercolor in Hunger (Croatia) by Petra Zlonoga and (Academy Award® nominee for Lavatory Lovestory) Konstantin Bronzit's WE CANT LIVE WITHOUT COSMOS (Russia). Show closer is veteran Animation Show of Shows Piotr Dumala's (Crime and Punishment) transformative HIPOPOTAMY (Poland). The program runs 95 minutes with pre-show bonus material to be screened at most public presentations, so arrive early!

Each attendee must be registered individually to receive their own confirmation, so if you want to bring a friend, ask them to also reserve with their own email. Please print and bring your confirmation to the screening. Seating is limited, so reserve early. Please use the Eventbrite link in your confirmation if you need to cancel, as there will be a waiting list of others eager to attend. You are advised to arrive a half hour early to be seating, though programs will be oversold by 10% to allow for no shows, seating is not guaranteed once capacity is reached.

This event is a glimpse into the most talented technical and artistic minds of the computer graphics industry. It showcases everything from student films to blockbuster visual effects.

Call for Submissions

NW Animation Fest is now accepting film entries for 2015

We've made submitting films easy. Here's what you need to know:

1. Deadlines

Anyone can submit for FREE prior to October 1.

..Early ~ deadline: Oct 1, 2014 ~ standard fee: FREE ~ student fee: FREE

..Regular ~ deadline: Nov 1, 2014 ~ standard fee: $20 ~ student fee: $10

..Final ~ deadline: Dec 1, 2014 ~ standard fee: $30 ~ student fee: $15

Feature Films and Commercial Work made in Oregon have an extended deadline, and can be submitted for free until March 1, 2015.

2. Eligibility
We accept any animated film – from anywhere, made whenever, shown wherever.

3. Online Entry Form
Use our online entry form to send your information and payment.

4. Send Your Film
Send your film via online transfer. Just tell us where the video file is, and we'll download it. The file you send now is the same one that we'll screen at the festival if it's selected.

5. Festival Dates
The 2015 festival will take place on May 4-10 in Por! tland, Oregon, USA, at the Hollywood Theatre. Most screenings will repeat during the following week in Eugene, Oregon, at the Bijou Art Cinemas. Select audience favorites will then be honored in both cities at one-day-only "Best of the Fest" events in September.
