['Dat HD don't got no motor.]
[It's not often that telling someone that
your bike is a Harley-Davidson
would bring to mind images of a bicycle. But in 1922, you
could buy a
genuine HD bicycle for $35-45].
Motorcycle sales for the whole industry was
way down.
HD would drastically drop prices, and use direct mail
campaigns/advertising. The engineering team would set out
to improve
performance, reliability and maintainability.
