XLH - 1,000cc, (12,742)
XLCH - 1,000cc, (4,074)
XLT - 1,000cc, (1,099) (Touring)
XLCR - 1,000cc, (1,923) (Cafe Racer)
FLH - 1,200cc, (8,691) (Electra Glide)
FLHS - 1,200cc, (535) (Electra Glide Sports)
FX - 1,200cc, (2,049) (Super Glide)
FXE - 1,200cc, (9,400) (Super Glide, electric start)
FXS - 1,200cc, (3,742) (Low Rider)
LE - side car
Paint: arctic white, birch white, bright
blue, charcoal silver, midnight blue metalic, vivid brown,
vivid black, vivid brown.
XLCH/XLH, changes:
-New case designed allowing gearshift shaft
to emerge direct to left side lever.
- frame designed for removal of oil pump
with engine in frame.
XLT - First year for this touring model of
the XLH, included thicker seat, 3.5 gallon tank, touring
handle bars, saddlebags from FLH, geared higher and a windshield)
XLCR - First year for this model, (will last
2 years), [talk about jap lookin'], cast aluminum wheels,
fiberglass tail section w/solo seat, wrinkle black engine
paint, bikini fairing, black siamese exhaust, dual disc
front brakes, low bars, black paint scheme, [on everything], "Ricky
Racer" 4 gallon gas tank, 68 horses, 9:1 compression,
110 mph. $3,623.
FLH - caged bearing on transmission for main
drive gear, new main drive gear, caged needle bearings
for countershaft, updated breather vavle, longer dual-bucket
sprung saddle.
FLHS - This was a one year only model. FLH
w/Super sprung seat.
FX/FXE - cast rear wheel option, Showa fork,
swing out pivot at bottom of kickstarter lever.
FXS Low Rider - First year for this model.
Gun Metal Gray paint, 3.5 gallon tank w/tach
and speedo mounts, cast aluminum Morris wheels, (19"-F,
16"-R), Showa fork, raked frame, sportster front end,
shorter rear shocks, dual front brakes, highway pegs, oil
cooler, black crinkle finish on crankcases, barrels & heads,
polished covers, flat drag bars on curved-back risers
MOFOCO minutes: Vaughn Beals named president.
June 8, Rodney C Gott HD museam opens it's doors in York,
Penn. First year of HDOA-HD owners association. HD owns
21% of 750cc+ market.
Racing: Grand National-Jay Springsteen=1st,
Ted Boody=2nd, Gary Scott=3rd. Walter Villa wins 350cc
World Class Championship.
