HD tidbits from '88
[Another new Sportster engine]
[Oh, and it's HD's 85th. Time for some more anniversary models.
The FXRS, FLTC, FLHTC & new FXSTS would get anniversary graphics].

[By now, I'm noticing that the popularity of the Softail Custom is growing by 50% per year. Suppose HD will notice this too, and just like the FXR, come out with a new model now, and then several new ones within a couple years?.....hmmmm].

[Big Engine News Alert]
The sportster 1100cc is replaced by the 1200cc;
The 1100 bore was taken out to 3.5", new combustion chambers and 40mm carb with enriching circuits for smoother runnning in the city. This all would increase the horses 12%.

*^* New Model FXSTS Softail Springer:
With the help of computers and teflon bearings, the Springer front end
of '48 could perform to contemporary standards. The front fender in '88
would sit rather high off the wheel, and it would be lowered because of
customer disapproval.
