HD tidbits from '89
[Letsee, should I buy the FXR because it
looks so cool, or the FXRT for the long trips. I sure wish
they made one that did both... OHHHH, lookee there!!]
HD "dips their toes" in the water with the FXR-Convertable.
Under 300 made for this, their first year. [Nothing too exciting.
Just removable luggage. A latch here, a latch there, "Oh
crap honey, did you remember to pack the right side?!] [Actually,
I wish mine did that sometimes.].
[Sooooo. "U" want in? The Ultra's
sneak in.]
The Ultra classics sneak in between the FX and Softail explosion.
They
would have full touring packages, and then some. Cruise control,
CB's,
voice activated intercom, 80 watt stereo, [whoowwwwwww, LIGHT
ME UP!].
Plus, all the new touring models get sealed turn signals,
and high
output alternators. [HD shoots back against the Goldwing].
[By the way, on a personal note, during Christmas last year,
the wife
and I visited 6 HD stores. 3 of the six had 1996 Ultra's
for sale.
The price difference(s) was $4,000., every single one was
green.
Both my wife and I have had dreams of them since. {guess
what model
Santa will bring one of these years?!}].
[And who woulda guessed], with the popularity
of the Softail, comes
another Heritage, the FLHTC, 'Heritage Softail Classic',
[it made
classic in only it's second year, too].
